Stress is the emotional and physical strain caused by our response to pressure from the outside world.
That response is occurring in the brain, triggering an excessive release of adrenaline, noradrenaline and cortisol. This reaction in the brain results in a very powerful PHYSICAL reaction in the body that is severely compromising our ability to think at a higher level, while compromising the effectiveness of the digestive system and immune system.
This is why stress has been linked to diabetes, anxiety, poor concentration, poor sleep, high blood pressure, heart disease, low libido, depression, IBS, heartburn, infertility, miscarriage, impatience, angry outbursts, impulsive and irrational decision making, arthritis, Alzheimer's, dementia and many more terrible, yet prevalent conditions.
Most of these conditions express themselves as a result of stress, or are further exacerbated by stress, which again is simply our mental response to the pressures of our 21st century lives. Yet our treatment of these conditions often fail to consider the health and well-being of our minds, and we instead opt for the "quick fixes" that not only present a myriad of undesirable side-effects, but serve only to dull the symptoms, failing to address the root of the problem.
At MindSavvy we embrace the knowledge of the mind now available to us thanks to tremendous innovations in science and research and we combine that knowledge with simple practices that are proven to strengthen the mind and improve health and cognitive thinking.
